I'll never forget when I was first introduced to "Sour Cream Cake", a cake my mother made almost weekly. Sour Cream Cake is the easiest cake to make, every time my mother made one I was always right there to watch. And yes, I stood by to get my share of licking the bowl and the detachable beaters. I had 3 other sister's to share the bowl and beaters with but didn't care who got what as long as I got a taste. After I tasted the batter I knew it was going to be a good cake. I have been making this cake for years now, the only thing was, I had never retrieved the recipe until November 2000 from my mother. It was Thanksgiving 2000 and I needed a Sour Cream Cake recipe and my mother was the only one I knew that had one. I called her on the phone and she emailed me the recipe that same day. I printed out the recipe and stored in my book of recipes.

Long story short, in January 2001 my mother passed away suddenly of an acute Leukemia. After her passing and the reminiscing started, I began to think of her recipes, her dishes and the dinner's we shared together. That's when I started compiling all of her recipes together, most I made my own but gathered them all and stored them  in a 3 ring white binder. This blog was birthed from my memories of my mother and how much she loved to cook. Enjoyingmylife displays different area's of my life in how I enjoymylife as well as having gratifying life time memories of my mother as well as my family.
